Today we (Josie, Arlene, Jennifer, Esther and me) had a class in making backgrounds.
We heated magic foam and pressed various items into it. You can use just about anything. We used crumpled paper, plastic leaves, paper clips, coins, lace, stamps and ribbon.
We applied inks (dye is best) directly to the sponge and then gave it a spritz of water and stamped it on card stock. If you spritz on more water it will have a water color effect. You can reuse the sponge by heating and the impression will disappear and you can reuse it over and over again.
