Fiasco Over

Weds morning I went to DMV in Bessemer. Was a pleasant drive to a small old town in another time. No traffic easy parking so far so good. Inside court house I got in line at 9:30. The line didn't move till 10 and that was only because some people gave up and left. Long story short I finished 3 hours later. I got my tag renewed and and the handicap tag.

Car Tag Fiasco

1. First part of month, as I have done before , I mailed form,insurance , drivers liscense , and check.

2. In a week or so everything came back with a note that since Bob is on the title as an or I need his drivers liscense . New law as of Jan 1.

3. Sounds easy. Oh No. All I need is front and back of current liscense I called and he says camera, scanner, computer not working. He says ok and in a few days i get an original expired in 2010. I called he says he thought it was a duplicate.

4. Desperation is setting in. Alabama is well known for DMV horror stories. Now he takes in the liscense gets it copied. He goes to the post office on Fri. and has it sent overnight. Will arrive Sat before 2pm. Doesn't happen. Of course no delivery Sun. Monday afternoon afternoon there is a note on the door to pick up at post office. Too late for today.

5. Just to double check I called him to read me the expiration date on the copy he sent. He can't see the date cause he can't find his glasses. I told him to please go look for them. I'm on hold for a long time and when he comes back to the phone he has the glasses but still can't read the date. Finally I tell him exactly where it is on the card and he finally sees 2018. Yea

6. Tuesday I'm at the post office at 8 am and they don't open till 8:30. I wait cause I'm not leaving without it. I'm first in line and and the postal worker says its not there. My letter carrier works out of another post office and it will be at this post office after 11am. I go back at 2 and they have it. Now I have it and early tomorrow morn I'm going to the DMV. That's after my first night sleeping with the BPAP machine helping me breathe. But that's another story.

P.S. Bob can get his money back from the Post Office but let him deal with that
